An authentic Benetton Formula 1 team-issued crew shirt size XL from the team’s final Formula One season before becoming Renault F1.  Marked with staining, possibly oil, on substantial part of the front  

Finished in the iconic Benetton blue, this shirt features embroidered Benetton Formula 1 branding together with Korean Air, Playlife, Michelin and additional period sponsor patches used by the team during the 2001 championship. The oversized embroidered BENETTON logo across the back and sponsor placement are consistent with official team apparel from the era rather than retail fan merchandise.

Original Formula One team apparel from the Benetton era has become increasingly difficult to source, particularly pieces connected to the final Benetton season featuring Giancarlo Fisichella and Jenson Button before the team’s transition into Renault F1.

Condition

Good structural vintage condition with no major damage to material observed.

There are scattered dark staining and spotting across the front torso, upper chest and back, shown in photographs. The shirt remains fully wearable and displays well, but the staining prevents it from being considered collector-grade and is reflected in the pricing.   Please review all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.

Why We Selected It

Most surviving Benetton Formula 1 clothing on the market consists of licensed retail merchandise. Genuine team-issued garments from the team’s final 2001 season were produced in far smaller numbers and were intended for paddock and team personnel. Despite the staining, this remains an authentic piece of Benetton Formula One history that captures the final chapter of one of Formula 1’s most iconic teams before its transformation into Renault F1.
